Whittemore Peterson Institute (WPI) is dedicated to curing complex, chronic diseases by supporting collaborative research between University of Nevada, Reno researchers and expert physicians within the institute’s facilities. Dr. Kenny De Meirleir and Dr. Vincent Lombardi have worked closely together for years in an effort to solve ME/CFS and similar infection-associated neuroimmune diseases.
We are indebted to those who suffer from these diseases and have donated their samples to this research. They are critical to our efforts to identify more effective treatments. While patients may not benefit directly from research studies, their participation is the driving force behind the effort to discover biomarkers of disease and most importantly potential treatments.
We are excited by WPI collaborative studies surrounding the gut-brain axis and immunity that are beginning to provide onsite clinicians with effective treatment strategies. These treatments include FDA-approved drugs and others that are currently in clinical trials.
We hope that you will join us in this journey through your donations of samples, time and/or financial support. Our progress depends you!
Our purpose is to improve the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases that place a significant burden on the global community.
